This role involves building relationships with leadership, advising on employee relations, and performing data analysis to align HR strategies with business goals. Plains Midstream Canada (PMC) is an industry-leading transportation and midstream provider specializing in transportation, storage, processing, and marketing solutions for crude oil and natural gas liquids (NGLs). PMC operates strategically located facilities for crude oil and NGL storage, separates NGL from natural gas, and fractionates NGL into pure liquid petroleum gas (LPG) products, including propane and butane.

The HR Business Partner develops effective relationships with executive and senior leadership in assigned client departments to proactively solve business problems and achieve goals through pragmatic, data-driven HR solutions. The successful candidate will partner with our North American Information Services (IS) and Canadian Commercial Assets, Supply & Trading organizations. #Plains
This position is based in downtown Calgary and is eligible for our hybrid work schedule.
Builds trust to foster effective relationships with leadership to influence and achieve results; consults with business groups and HR Centers of Excellence (COEs) to identify needs; interprets data to develop solutions to improve team dynamics, morale, productivity, and retention; uses data and business acumen to analyze root causes of work environment issues; collaborates with COEs to ensure HR solutions address challenges and create value; leads change initiatives with leadership; implements annual HR programs; guides organizational restructures and workforce planning.
Advises leadership on employee relations issues; provides performance management guidance; collaborates with legal on complex matters; conducts investigations to resolve employee issues.
Performs ongoing analysis of employee and talent data; reports on trends; develops strategies aligned with business goals; partners with leaders to identify gaps and opportunities; assesses employee impact of business decisions and recommends mitigation strategies.
Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Management, Psychology, or related; 5-8 years in HR Business Partner or similar roles; ability to travel up to 15%, mainly to the US; demonstrated ability to develop solutions, influence senior management, project plan, analyze data, think strategically, assess risks, interpret laws, and work effectively in fast-paced environments. Excellent communication skills are required.
Preferred: CPHR designation, Workday HRIS experience.
