Job Description
The HSE Specialist is responsible for implementing and continuously improving Health & Safety programs on a daily basis. This role provides technical and professional support to operations and reports directly to the Plant Manager, with functional reporting to the Director of Health, Safety & Environment. It requires a high level of visibility and presence on the shop floor.

WHEN YOU JOIN US, YOU WILL BE:
- Coaching staff and supervisors to improve communication, safety behaviors, and achieve zero incidents
- Identifying and evaluating hazards, applying controls to eliminate risks, and supporting hazard reduction and compliance programs
- Monitoring legislative changes and assessing their impact, supporting safety evaluations, audits, and safety committees
- Maintaining relationships with regulatory agencies and industry organizations
- Guiding incident reporting and investigation processes, ensuring root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Managing safety training programs and records, facilitating internal safety training sessions
- Implementing and administering EHS programs and policies aligned with jurisdictional requirements
- Supporting workers’ compensation processes and interfacing with insurance and medical professionals
- Managing safety budgets and onboarding new employees with safety training
OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE
- BA/BS in occupational safety, science, engineering, or related field
- 3-5 years experience in manufacturing health & safety roles
- Professional EHS certification preferred
- Proven leadership in manufacturing environments
- Team player with leadership qualities and influence
- Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations
- Understanding of industry standards, hazard assessment, and safety concepts
- Excellent communication skills for all organizational levels
- Results-driven with a strong work ethic and analytical skills
- Ability to make decisions under pressure and lead change effectively
