Job summary

Tacten Industrial Inc in Fort McMurray, AB seeks an HSE Coordinator for the Fall TA Season. Fly-in/fly-out from major hubs, with camp provided, on a temporary full-time project basis at the CNRL Horizon site.

You will lead safety on site, conduct inspections, promote a strong safety culture, and deliver training to employees and contractors. Requirements include NCSO certification and 3+ years in field safety, with heavy industrial experience considered an asset.

Qualifications

  • NCSO certification required.
  • OHS certification would be an asset.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in field safety.
  • Heavy industrial operations experience is an asset.
  • Excellent planner, organizer with strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Position Summary

Tacten is seeking professional, energetic, and forward-thinking HSE Coordinators to support our Fall TA Season in Fort McMurray, AB.

This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in a growing division within Tacten!

  • Dates: August 28, 2026 - October 2, 2026
  • Temporary, Full-Time Project/Turnaround Support
  • Fly-in-fly-out from all major hubs in Canada

Are you passionate about safety? Do you have extensive experience working in the safety field and are interested in taking the next step in your career?

Responsibilities
  • Supervise, coordinate, and manage all aspects of safety on project site(s) to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Conduct workplace inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations, as well as company policies.
  • Actively promote a strong safety culture through toolbox talks, safety awareness initiatives, and employee engagement.
  • Deliver comprehensive safety training programs for employees, contractors, and visitors, focusing on safety protocols, procedures, and emergency preparedness.
  • Investigate and document workplace incidents, near-misses, and safety violations, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of applicable safety rules and regulations,and leverage strong negotiation and reasoning skills to influence and guide others toward effective and acceptable safety solutions.
Requirements
  • NCSO Certification required.
  • OHS Certification would be an asset but not required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a field safety-related discipline.
  • Heavy industrial operations experience is an asset.
  • A proven track record in participation of safety management processes e.g. safety committees and working groups and heavy industrial auditing and inspection experience.
  • You are an excellent planner, organizer, with refined interpersonal and communication skills and have demonstrated computer competency with Microsoft Office software.
