Position Overview :

As an HR Specialist, you will partner directly with site operations teams to define and execute HR strategies that align with business objectives and key initiatives.

Please note that this is an entry-level role and work will be performed onsite in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

• Analyze trends and develop strategies to resolve HR issues and make a positive impact on business results
• Responsible for employee relations issues in a designated area or region and elevate serious issues to appropriate HR management level as required
• Create and maintain overall recruiting strategy and staffing plan for assigned location(s) in collaboration with the hiring manager(s)
• Responsible for full-cycle recruiting activities including but not limited to screening resumes, performing in-person, phone and virtual interviews for assigned location(s)
• Manage all activities across the employee lifecycle—‘Hire to Retire’, providing guidance and advice to managers to action and resolve matters

Experience and Abilities :

• Minimum of 3 - 5 years of recruiting experience in Talent Acquisition, Recruiting or HR
• Experience coordinating with full-cycle recruitment
• Experience managing applicant flow through use of an Applicant Tracking System (ATS)
• Ability to foster positive relationships and guide conflict resolution
• Self-motivated, goal-oriented individual with strong organizational skills and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to identify and successfully make use of non-traditional recruitment methods, applying creativity and originality to reach passive candidates
• Ability to work under pressure, prioritize workload and be self-directed
• Excellent computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel)
• Excellent people skills, able to manage the applicant experience and motivate hiring managers

Qualifications and Education :

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience
• CPHR / SHRM designation considered an asset
• Knowledge of laws and regulations as they apply to employee / labour relations
