Job summary

About the Opportunity

• Prepare recurring and non-recurring journal entries as part of the monthly close.
• Prepare bank and balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Maintain accounting schedules supporting accruals, deferred revenue, fixed assets, and other accounts.
• Support capital projects and fixed asset reporting.
• Reconcile credit card and payment activity to financial records.
• Assist with the reconciliation of subsidiary systems to the general ledger.
• Contribute to an accurate and timely month-end close.
• Analyze actual results against budget, forecast, prior periods, and other benchmarks.
• Investigate revenue, expense, margin, and operational variances and communicate key drivers.
• Develop and monitor financial and operational KPIs.
• Support forecasting and financial planning activities.
• Prepare ad hoc analysis and business cases to support management decisions.
• Help Finance move beyond reporting results to understanding the factors driving performance.
• Provide financial and analytical support across various areas of the organization.
• Work with stakeholders to investigate unusual results and identify opportunities to improve financial performance.
• Support financial control testing and documentation.
• Coordinate information required for external audits and year-end activities.
• Contribute to improvements in financial workflows and reporting systems.

About You

• Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Business, Commerce, or a related field.
• 2–4 years of progressive accounting, financial analysis, or related finance experience.
• Hands-on experience with general ledger accounting, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Experience with financial reporting, variance analysis, forecasting, or other financial analysis.
• Exposure to deferred revenue, fixed assets, capital projects, or other specialized accounting areas.
• Strong accounting fundamentals and analytical skills.
• Strong Excel skills and confidence working with financial data.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
• CPA designation, progress toward CPA, or an interest in pursuing the designation.
• Experience with an ERP or integrated financial management system.

Salary Range

$75,000.00 - $90,000.00 /year
