Job summary

Vaco Recruiter Services in Toronto is seeking an accounting professional to join our finance team. You will lead month-end close activities, prepare reconciliations, and analyze G/L accounts to ensure accurate financial reporting.

You will support quarterly reviews and annual audits, maintain lease-related schedules, and coordinate with lease software support to ensure a smooth subledger and timely accrual adjustments.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Accounting.
• Minimum 3 years’ industry experience in an accounting/finance role, reporting under IFRS or US GAAP
• CPA designation or pursuing it is considered an asset

Responsibilities

• Carry out month end close activities such as preparing reconciliations and analysis of assigned G/L accounts.
• Assist quarterly reviews and annual audits by providing supporting schedules and resolving auditor enquiries.
• Maintain and update schedules tracking the lease portfolio and liability accruals, serving as the first point of contact for others in the business who need details in these areas.
• Coordinate with lease accounting software technical support in order to resolve issues and maintain an accurate subledger.
• Collaborate with other teams to track accruals, invoices received, accrued for and pending.
• Investigate and resolve issues on data quality, unusual transactions, outstanding items and reconciling items, escalating to reporting manager and other stakeholders as necessary.
• Participate in projects that improve the accounting close cycle and support business decision making.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

About the Opportunity

• Assist quarterly reviews and annual audits by providing supporting schedules and resolving auditor enquiries.
• Maintain and update schedules tracking the lease portfolio and liability accruals, serving as the first point of contact for others in the business who need details in these areas.
• Directly coordinate with lease accounting software technical support in order to resolve issues and maintain an accurate subledger.
• Collaborate with other teams to get complete and accurate accrual adjustments; tracking which invoices have been received, already accrued for and which are pending.
• Investigate and resolve issues on a timely basis relating to financial data quality, unusual transactions, outstanding items and reconciling items, escalating to reporting manager and other stakeholders as necessary.
• Participate in projects that improve the accounting close cycle and support business decision making.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

About You

• Post-secondary education in Accounting
• Minimum 3 years’ industry experience in an accounting/finance role, reporting under IFRS or US GAAP
• CPA or pursuing designation is considered an asset
• You must currently reside within the Greater Toronto Area and be permitted to work in Canada to be considered for this opportunity.

Pay Range

$51,595 - $75,000 per year
