You will serve as the primary resource for HR best practices, manage day-to-day HR operations, oversee recruitment and performance management, and coordinate directly with senior leadership, employees, systems, and external partners. Your focus will be on taking full ownership of responsibilities, establishing structured workflows, developing staff, and ensuring alignment with company goals with a clear trajectory toward an HR Director role.

Who is this role a fit for?

This role is ideal for someone who combines strong operational HR skills with exceptional leadership and problem-solving abilities. The right candidate is:

  • Proactive and detail-oriented
  • Calm under pressure and solution-focused
  • An empathetic yet driven leader
  • Capable of mentoring others and aligning a team behind a common goal
  • Comfortable interfacing with executives, employees, and cross-functional stakeholders
Key Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership & Support
    • Supervise and serve as the primary point of contact for HR operations and support staff.
    • Provide one-on-one and group mentorship to drive work quality, consistency, and team growth.
    • Oversee onboarding, offboarding, and professional development of team members across the organization.
    • Facilitate year-end employee performance reviews, appraisal processes, and goal-setting strategies, reporting metrics to senior leadership.
  • Operational Oversight
    • Own and oversee all internal HR processes, payroll coordination, and system setups (including Google Workspace, Google Drive, AppFolio, Ramp, and 3CX).
    • Interact directly with leadership, third-party systems, payroll providers, and internal stakeholders.
    • Develop and implement scalable, compliant HR procedures, policies, and workflows.
    • Drive continuous process improvement initiatives to reduce friction, eliminate errors, and build scalable HR infrastructure as the company expands.
  • Quality Assurance & Communication
    • Monitor and uphold high standards of spoken and written English communication across all HR correspondence and employee interactions.
    • Ensure timely and accurate responses to employee inquiries, performance feedback, and internal escalations.
    • Review team priorities and establish structured workflows and templates to standardize HR communication expectations.
    • Maintain precise record-keeping and data integrity across all software and organizational tools.
  • Project & Task Management
    • Work collaboratively with leadership during the first 1-2 months to document, refine, and standardize Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
    • Streamline overlapping HR tools, processes, and trackers to eliminate redundancies for a smoother workflow.
    • Provide oversight on payroll administration, ensuring timely adjustments, accuracy, and clear tracking.
    • Support employees with work-related and administrative concerns, promoting a positive and professional company culture.
  • Other Duties
    • Assist executive leadership with strategic HR initiatives, organizational expansion plans, and ad-hoc projects.
    • Prepare a general scope of work and develop department-specific training materials to support ongoing organizational development.
Required:
  • At least 3-5 years of relevant HR experience, particularly in recruitment, candidate screening, onboarding, payroll administration, and performance reviews.
  • Strong spoken and written English skills with the ability to communicate confidently with leadership and employees.
  • Demonstrated sound judgment, strong problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Proven ability to take initiative, make recommendations, manage priorities, and improve existing workflows.
  • Tech-savvy with proficiency in standard business software, including Gmail, Google Drive, Google Docs, Excel, and AppFolio.
Preferred:
  • Experience with AppFolio is a strong plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and standardize SOPs, workflows, and training systems.
