Job description

MRG is Canada’s largest independent concert promoter and live entertainment venue operator. We produce over 1000 events annually across 9 owned and operated venues and have produced concerts hosted in clubs and arenas domestically, as well as Europe and Asia-Pacific. Our diverse portfolio includes leading hospitality businesses, record labels, experiential venues like Par Tee Putt and Par Tee Pong, as well as AdmitOne, the fastest-growing multi-product ticketing platform in North America. We are at the forefront of the experience economy.

Who you are :

We’re hiring an HR Manager to lead and level up key people operations across the business. This role is hands-on and high-impact. You’ll manage a team of regional generalists and be accountable for three critical areas : employee relations, onboarding, and offboarding. You’ll also partner closely with our Learning & Development team and work hand-in-hand with Recruitment to ensure we’re hiring not just great people, but the right people for the business.

The fine print :

  • Lead a team of regional HR Generalists - provide support, direction, and structure to ensure consistency and alignment across locations.
  • Employee Relations - handle complex and sensitive matters with maturity and discretion. Be the person leaders call when they need calm, clear advice.
  • Onboarding & Offboarding - own the experience from start to finish. Make sure we start strong, and end professionally.
  • Partner with L&D - support the design and rollout of training that improves performance and builds leadership bench strength.
  • Collaborate with Recruitment - help define what “great fit” actually looks like and make sure we’re hiring to support business goals, not just fill seats.
  • Build and refine simple, scalable HR processes that work in the real world.

We are looking for someone with :

  • 4-6 years of experience in HR, experience managing people or regional teams a bonus.
  • Experienced in employee relations and confident navigating grey areas.
  • Strong operator - you bring structure, clarity, and accountability wherever you go.
  • Solid understanding of employment standards (ideally in multiple provinces).
  • Direct, trustworthy, and able to build relationships across all levels of the business.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment - no need for handholding.

Bonus If You :

  • Have experience in hospitality, live events, or multi-location businesses.
  • Have supported Learning & Development initiatives or helped build out onboarding frameworks.
  • Believe HR should be a strategic lever, not just a compliance function.

What’s in it for you?

  • Participation in the MRG Travel Ambassador Program.
  • A fun and casual environment. You will be joining a close-knit, innovative team of creative and energetic go-getters.
  • Employee discounts to our concerts, shows and hospitality venues.
  • Career development opportunities with a company that encourages individuals to learn and grow.

Thank you for your interest in MRG. Given the anticipated interest in this role, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
