Vianode’s breakthrough solution enables tailored high-performance synthetic anode graphite and holistic sustainability offering a 90% reduction in CO2 footprint. Vianode operates the world's most sustainable full-scale anode graphite plant for batteries at Herøya Norway.
The next step involves executing a multi-billion dollar phased investment program dedicated to establishing large-scale plants across North America and Europe.
Vianode’s long-term ambition is to supply advanced battery materials to 3 million EVs per year by 2030. Vianode is owned by the world-leading financial company Altor.
Our first industrial plant for the production of anode graphite has been opened in Herøya, Norway since 2024. The next phase will involve construction of a large-scale plant in Ontario, Canada.
About the Role
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced HR Manager to lead and oversee all human resources activities in North America while partnering closely with the Leadership Team to support organizational growth and business objectives. This role is responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies, ensuring compliance with employment legislation, driving talent acquisition and employee development initiatives, and fostering a strong, high-performing workplace culture.
This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in the early stages of a large-scale industrial project, helping establish the people, processes, and HR foundations required to support long-term growth and operational success. In close partnership with the headquarters in Oslo, Norway, the HR Manager will lead HR activities in Canada while contributing to global HR initiatives and supporting employees and leaders across multiple regions, including the United States and Asia. The role will partner closely with business leaders to align people strategies with organizational objectives and implement scalable HR practices that support continued growth.

Location: St. Thomas, Ontario. The role will initially be remote, with occasional travel required during the project phase, and will transition to a full-time on-site position as the plant approaches start-up and operations. Travel outside of Canada could be required.
