Job summary

Canadian Natural Resources Limited in Fort McMurray, AB is seeking an HR Generalist Student to support the Client Services team, working alongside HR Business Advisors, analysts and business units to gain practical HR experience on meaningful projects.

The role is 4 days on, 3 days off, 10 hours per day, with 8 or 12 month terms starting January 2027, and is a safety sensitive position with potential relocation under the company's policy.

• Currently enrolled in 3rd or 4th year of a Human Resources degree or diploma.

Responsibilities

• Create and process Assignment Change Form (ACF) packages including resignations, transfers and leaves.
• Prepare routine HR forms and letters.
• Audit people and position data in HR Central.
• Coordinate and complete projects for HR Business Advisors.
• Assist in rolling out HR company initiatives.
• Produce ad-hoc reports as required.

• Job location: Fort McMurray, AB - Oil Sands Site
• Shift schedule: 4 days on, 3 days off, 10 hours/day (Monday - Thursday)
• Term lengths:8 months or 12months
• Term start:January 2027

Key Accountabilities:

• Create and process complete and accurate Assignment Change Form (ACF) packages, including resignations, transfers, progressions, leaves of absence, general employee changes etc.
• Create and complete routine HR forms and letters
• Complete people and position data audits within HR Central
• Coordinate and complete projects on behalf of the HRBA’s/department
• Assist in the roll out of HR Company initiatives
• Complete ad-hoc reporting as required
