Aramark Sports + Entertainment is looking to hire a Senior Human Resources Manager in Ottawa, ON. This position is based at the Canadian Tire Centre and provides day to day HR support for that venue with functions related to hourly employee recruitment, staffing, employee records / retention, employee onboarding, event day employee check in and employee engagement. The Senior Human Resources Manager also provides vital support to the Canada District, supporting General Managers, Department Heads, and the District Manager across their prescribed venues. They are responsible for providing HR support regarding HR policies and practices, recruitment, staffing, onboarding, researching and / or investigating concerns, and making recommendations that promote positive employee relations. This position supports food and beverage and operations managers and front-line associates in major sports and entertainment venues in Canada.

Responsibilities
- Support the Human Resources Manager with functions related to hourly employee recruitment, staffing, employee records / retention, employee onboarding, event day employee check in, employee engagement.
- Provide consultation to managers on policies and compliance regarding employment-related matters.
- Interact with internal (COs, Field HR) and external resources (vendors) to acquire needed information to lead work to completion.
- Review dashboard metrics daily to optimize efficiency and ensure work is completed in accordance with service level agreements (SLAs).
- Assist the Human Resources Manager and operational managers with the full cycle recruiting process.
- Partner with operations to develop and execute a proactive staffing plan, including coordinating with corporate TA and others to ensure accurate job postings, consistent hiring events and partnerships with contingent staffing vendors.
- Manage year round and high volume applicant tracking from interview to hire.
- Lead positive employee relations efforts.
- Conduct annual review of compensation plans for all hourly employees.
- Execute staffing and onboarding processes for hourly and salary positions (managers, professionals and technicians).
- Ensure compliance with corporate / district level policies and federal / state governmental agencies.
- Communicate benefits, policy and other HR related changes.
- Train and coach management / supervisory staff in interviewing, hiring, performance reviews, counseling, diversity, disciplinary and regulatory compliance.
- Participate with HR Team and others on corporate level projects.
- Manage and report required HR business metrics (diversity, area labor market info, etc.).
- Maintain accurate information in electronic and paper employee records.
- Lead resolution of employee relations issues and conduct investigations as necessary.
- Initiate and process progressive disciplinary actions for all departments.
- Conduct and facilitate training of hourly employees : New Hire Orientation, TEAM, HACCP, ServSafe, FOCUS, and On the Job Training.
- Attend building safety meetings and Aramark safety meetings; track training and hourly paperwork; maintain current employee files for audit purposes.
- Ensure proper handling of Union grievance process.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 5-7 years of experience in a Human Resources Generalist role.
- Previous multi-site HR operation experience preferred
- Operational management experience preferable
- Team building skills to plan, lead and empower all staff; ability to collaborate closely with management.
- Previous experience with an HRIS system
- Bachelor's Degree preferred, preferably in Business Administration, Human Resources or equivalent
- Human Resources experience must include recruiting experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Must be willing to work event-based hours that include nights, weekends and holidays as necessary.
- Good written and verbal communication skills; able to communicate and coordinate effectively at all levels in the organization. Eloquent and a completer-finisher.
- Motivation to work with minimal supervision; ability to handle unstructured and diverse workload.
