Job summary

Encepta is seeking an experienced HR Generalist to provide broad HR support, advise employees and leaders, and contribute to the ongoing development of our workplace culture. You’ll build trusted relationships, work across multiple HR areas, and help shape a consistent, employee-focused environment.

The role emphasizes advisory responsibilities, employee relations, performance matters, benefits, leaves and HR policy improvement, with a hybrid work model in a growing Canadian infrastructure

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field.
  • 3–6 years of HR experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian employment standards, human rights and health and safety legislation.
  • CPHR designation or in-progress is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Provide broad HR support across employee relations, performance management, benefits, compliance and engagement.
  • Advise employees and managers on workplace and employee relations matters.
  • Lead HR policies, programs and improvement initiatives.

What You’ll Work On

You will provide broad HR support across employee relations, performance management, benefits, compliance, and employee engagement. Work closely with employees and managers to provide practical advice, interpret policies and ensure HR practices align with Canadian legislation and organizational objectives. You’ll also:

  • Advise employees and managers on workplace and employee relations matters
  • Support performance management and coach managers through challenging conversations
  • Conduct fair and confidential workplace investigations
  • Manage benefits and complex leave cases, including STD, LTD and workers’ compensation
  • Support health, safety, wellness, learning and engagement initiatives
  • Update HR policies, procedures and employee handbooks
  • Support change management, culture and inclusion initiatives
  • Monitor employment legislation and regulatory changes
  • Analyse HR metrics, including turnover, engagement and workforce demographics
  • Occasionally travel to other offices, meetings or professional development events

What You’ll Bring

You’ll be a strong fit for this role if you have:

  • 3-6 years of HR experience
  • A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian employment standards, human rights and health and safety legislation
  • Experience supporting employee relations, performance management, and workplace investigations
  • Knowledge of benefits, disability management, and employee leave processes
  • Strong judgement, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills
  • Experience working with HRIS and applicant tracking systems
  • The ability to interpret policies and analyse HR data
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • The confidence to manage multiple priorities and complex HR matters independently
  • A completed or in-progress CPHR designation, or another relevant HR certification, is considered an asset.
