Job summary

BURNCO in Calgary is hiring an HR Coordinator to support day-to-day HR operations across North America. You will manage administrative tasks, assist with recruitment and onboarding, and maintain employee records in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment.

This role suits an organized HR professional with 1+ year of experience, strong communication, and proficiency in Microsoft Office. You’ll work with the HR team to ensure compliance, contribute to culture initiatives, and provide front-desk

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in HR or related field preferred.
  • 1+ years of experience in an HR support or coordination role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems and recruitment platforms is an asset.
  • High level of discretion and confidentiality.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day HR administrative support and coordination to keep employee processes organized.
  • Complete and maintain employment documentation across Canada and the United States, including accommodations, leaves, workers’ compensation, and EEO requirements.
  • Support recruitment activities throughout the hiring process.
  • Prepare onboarding documentation, coordinate orientation, and help new hires transition smoothly.
  • Provide front desk reception support for ~20% of the role.
  • Contribute to HR initiatives including training, engagement, audits, and projects.
  • Respond to employee inquiries and direct them to the appropriate HR team member.

Are you an organized, developing HR professional looking for a role where you can support employees and day-to-day HR operations? We’re hiring an HR Coordinator in Calgary to support HR across our North America operations. If you have HR administration experience, strong attention to detail, and a passion for creating a positive workplace experience, we want to hear from you!

You will provide critical support to the HR team by managing administrative tasks, assisting with recruitment and onboarding, maintaining employee records, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. This role is ideal for someone who is organized, proactive, and passionate about contributing to a positive workplace culture.

What you will be doing
  • Provide day-to-day HR administrative support and coordination to help keep employee processes, records, and team activities organized
  • Complete and maintain employment documentation supporting HR administration across Canada and the United States, including accommodations, leaves of absence, workers’ compensation, employment equity and equal employment opportunity requirements, and other applicable federal, provincial, state, and local requirements
  • Support recruitment activities throughout the hiring process
  • Prepare onboarding documentation, coordinate orientation activities, and help new hires transition smoothly into the company
  • Provide front desk reception support for approximately 20% of the role, including greeting visitors, responding to inquiries, and helping maintain a professional office experience
  • Contribute to HR initiatives including training programs, employee engagement activities, compliance audits, and other projects as needed
  • Respond to employee inquiries, provide guidance where appropriate, and direct employees to the right HR team member when needed
What we would like from you
  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
  • 1+ years of experience in an HR support or coordination role
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems and recruitment platforms is considered an asset
  • High level of discretion and confidentiality

Location and other key details:
  • This is a full-time permanent position based out of our Calgary Corporate Office
  • The hours of work will be Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
