Job summary

Houle Electric Canada in Burnaby is seeking an HR Coordinator to join our Human Resources team at our Burnaby head office. You will support onboarding, HRIS administration, employee records, and coordinate training programs to foster a positive employee experience.

You will maintain records, assist with organizational charts, monitor work permit expiries, run new-hire surveys, and support HR initiatives across the organization.

Qualifications

  • 2 years of experience in Human Resources or administrative support.
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate employee records in the HRIS and support onboarding.
  • Coordinate employee training registrations and track training records.
  • Assist with HR initiatives and provide admin support across the organization.
  • Monitor work permit expiries and ensure compliance.

About this role

We are recruiting for a HR Coordinator to join the Human Resources team at our Burnaby head office.

In this role, you will support a range of Human Resources activities, including employee onboarding, HRIS administration, maintaining employee records, and coordinating training programs. You will serve as an important resource for employees and contribute to creating a positive employee-focused experience.

Here’s how your role will strengthen our team.

Your responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate employee records in the HRIS, including new-hire setup, employee updates, position changes, and terminations
  • Maintain organizational charts and employee data to support accuracy and consistency
  • Monitor work permit expiries and obtain updated work authorization documents to ensure compliance.
  • Conduct new-hire surveys and analyze feedback to identify opportunities to improve the onboarding experience
  • Coordinate employee training registrations, maintain the training calendar, and update training records.
  • Administer security awareness training and the Easy Generator learning platform
  • Provide administrative support for HR initiatives across the organization
Your experience and skills
  • A diploma or degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 2 years of experience in Human Resources or an administrative support role
  • Experience working with HRIS platforms. Knowledge of JDE is considered an asset
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to handling confidential information appropriately
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A responsive, customer-service-oriented approach when supporting employees, managers, and other stakeholders

Salary range: $55,000 -$65,000 per year plus a competitive total compensation package. Actual salary will be commensurate with experience, skills and overall match to the position offered.
