Overview

The Tax HR Business Partner (HRBP) collaborates with the Tax Canadian Managing Partner (CMP) and Tax Leadership Team (TLT) to develop and implement the Tax Talent Management Strategy, including national strategies and programs within Tax. As an ‘HR Account Manager’ for Tax, the HRBP works with specialists in Talent Attraction, Total Rewards, Learning & Development, Employee Relations, and other HR Business Partners to understand the current state of the function from a people perspective. The role involves making recommendations to more effectively deploy, retain, engage, and develop the right talent for now and the future.

What You Will Do
  1. Participate as an active member of the National HR Leadership Team representing the Tax function.
  2. Act as an internal consultant to our Tax team, providing solutions and strategic insights to address current and future talent needs.
  3. Share industry and market best practices, offering thought leadership on organizational and people-related talent strategies.
  4. Build strong, collaborative relationships with executive leadership to add value to business results.
  5. Provide overall functional HR direction during business planning, working with the Tax Leadership Team and National HR Leadership Team.
  6. Analyze talent issues within the Tax function, partnering with Centres of Expertise when necessary, and bringing data-driven insights.
  7. Develop talent through succession planning and next-generation leadership processes.
  8. Identify opportunities to enhance teamwork and individual growth within Tax.
  9. Drive cross-functional efficiencies by working closely with other HR Business Partners.
  10. Coordinate with HR Delivery centers and Centers of Expertise to ensure aligned HR services, providing feedback for continuous improvement.
What You Bring To The Role
  1. 10+ years of experience as an HR Business Partner or HR practitioner.
  2. 5+ years of professional services experience with a strong understanding of Tax business and current talent trends.
  3. Ability to quickly build relationships with stakeholders and influence at leadership levels.
  4. Extensive HR experience across reward principles, performance management, career development, learning, and organizational development.
  5. CHRP or equivalent is an asset.
  6. Strategic thinker with strong analysis, presentation, and communication skills.
  7. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  8. Self-starter who provides timely, relevant insights to leadership.
  9. Deep understanding of business issues, relationship-building, inquiry, listening, diagnosis, and influencing skills.
  10. Fluency in English, both written and oral, with the ability to support English-speaking colleagues and stakeholders. Ability to interpret and apply policies, laws, and regulations as needed.

KPMG BC Region Pay Range: The base salary range for this position is $115,500 to $193,000, potentially including bonuses. Salary is determined based on location, skills, and qualifications. KPMG offers a comprehensive Total Rewards program.
