Overview

The Tax HR Business Partner (HRBP) works with the Tax Canadian Managing Partner (CMP) and Tax Leadership Team (TLT) on development and implementation of Tax Talent Management Strategy and programs. As an ‘HR Account Manager’ for the Tax function, the HRBP collaborates with specialists in Talent Attraction, Total Rewards, Learning & Development, Employee Relations, and other HR Business Partners to understand the current state of the function from a people perspective and recommend future strategies for effective talent deployment, retention, engagement, and development.

What You Will Do

  1. Participate as an active member of the National HR Leadership Team representing the Tax function.
  2. Act as an internal consultant to the Tax team, providing solutions and strategic insights for talent needs.
  3. Provide industry and market best practices and thought leadership on organizational and talent strategy.
  4. Build strong relationships with leadership at an executive level to add value to business results.
  5. Provide HR direction during business planning in collaboration with the Tax Leadership Team.
  6. Analyze talent issues with the CMP and TLT, partnering with Centres of Expertise when necessary.
  7. Develop talent through succession planning and leadership development processes.
  8. Identify opportunities for teamwork and individual growth within Tax.
  9. Drive cross-functional efficiencies with other HR Business Partners.
  10. Coordinate with HR (Delivery center and COEs) to ensure aligned HR services and support.

What You Bring To The Role

  1. 10+ years of experience as an HR Business Partner or HR practitioner.
  2. 5+ years of professional services experience with a deep understanding of Tax and relevant talent trends.
  3. Ability to build relationships quickly with stakeholders and influence at leadership levels.
  4. Extensive HR knowledge including reward principles, performance management, career development, and organizational development.
  5. CHRP or equivalent experience is an asset.
  6. Strategic thinking with strong analysis, presentation, and communication skills.
  7. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to market changes.
  8. Self-starter with timely insights for leadership.
  9. Strong business acumen, relationship-building, and influencing skills.
  10. Fluency in English, with the ability to support or collaborate with English-speaking colleagues; familiarity with policies, practices, laws, and regulations.

KPMG BC Region Pay Range

The base salary range is $115,500 to $193,000, potentially with bonuses, based on location, skills, and qualifications. KPMG offers a comprehensive Total Rewards program.
