Responsibilities
What Success Looks Like
- Serve as a trusted HR advisor for business leaders within your assigned group, offering strategic guidance on talent development, goal setting, performance evaluation, workforce planning, compensation practices, and employee relations.
- Collaborate with leadership to manage organizational change, assist with role design and internal mobility strategies, and ensure smooth transitions with minimal risk.
- Lead and contribute to HR initiatives within your group, as well as support company-wide initiatives.
Talent & Culture Strategy
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to design and implement comprehensive programs that enhance employee experience and organizational effectiveness, including: onboarding, engagement, DEI, retention, and internal mobility
- Collaborate with leaders on talent reviews and performance management, providing coaching to ensure effective goal setting, feedback, and development.
- Analyze people data to identify trends and deliver actionable insights that support talent strategy and business outcomes.
Employee Relations & Compliance
- Provide expert guidance on complex employee relations matters, ensuring that all actions are fair, consistent, and fully compliant with Ontario employment laws and company policies; partner closely with leaders to mitigate risk and promote positive workplace outcomes.
- Lead workplace investigations, managing documentation and resolution processes with discretion and sensitivity to maintain confidentiality and foster trust.
- Act as a champion for a respectful, inclusive, and values-driven work environment by advising leaders on best practices to cultivate positive workplace culture that aligns with company values.
Process Improvement & HR Operations
- Partner with the cross-functional teams to optimize HR processes and drive effective rollout of programs like Learning and Development, onboarding enhancements, and policy updates—ensuring alignment with business needs and improving employee experience.
- Act as a change agent by supporting and influencing change management initiatives related to organizational growth, transformation, and restructuring, helping leaders and teams navigate change smoothly.
- Proactively identify opportunities to enhance HR functions, recommending and implementing improvements that increase efficiency, scalability, and overall impact on the business.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of solid HR experience, with at least 2 years in a hands-on HR Business Partner or advisory role—ideally supporting creative or media teams.
- Experienced in employee relations, coaching leaders to elevate performance, and helping shape talent strategies that truly make an impact.
- Thrives in dynamic, fast-changing environments and confidently adapts with agility, creativity, and resourcefulness.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and influencing skills that enable you to partner confidently across all levels.
- Strong knowledge of Ontario Employment Standards Act and proven HR best practices to keep us compliant and ahead of the curve.
- CHRP or CHRL designation is a plus—or you’re actively working toward it.
