Job description

Marshall Canada is seeking an HR Business Partner to join our team in Moncton, NB. Reporting to the Head of Human Resources, this role provides strategic onsite HR support to the Canadian Land Systems team, focusing on coaching, organizational training, and talent development. The HR Business Partner will play a key role in driving performance management, succession planning, and workforce planning to support future growth, while fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. To provide HR operational support to the New Brunswick assembly facility and the Land Systems teams in Canada.
  2. To provide counsel and best practice on all HR matters such as reward, performance, change, culture, engagement, and leadership.
  3. Act as trusted adviser, coach and consultant to our people managers by building strong relationships to improve work relationships, build morale and trust to increase productivity and retention.
  4. Lead and provide creative solutions to employee relations challenges, keeping pace with legislative changes and best practice, implementing solutions in line with company values and policy.
  5. Provide support for organizational change, new business and restructuring activities that impact Canadian Land Systems team members.
  6. Drive the performance and increasing effectiveness of Canadian Land Systems teams through understanding of key performance indicators and objectives, supporting the identification of issues/trends and exploring underlying causes to provide effective HR solutions and initiatives.
  7. Partner with Land Systems management teams to determine resource requirements and work with the Canadian HR team to deliver to those requirements through branding, identification, and development of relationships in the communities (local businesses, educational institutions, etc.), and participation in the development and implementation of recruiting strategies and support recruitment activities, as required.
  8. Partner with managers to develop and revise job profiles that meet the needs of the business and advise on compensation budgets for position and job requisition creation.
  9. Support the maintenance of the Moncton ISO14001 certification through oversight of identification of training needs, tracking for completion and the management of training documentation.
  10. Facilitate cross function partnerships to identify, develop and maintain appropriate skills assessment and training programs.
  11. Identify and generate relevant people resource KPIs and drive the use of people data to help managers make informed organization decisions.
  12. Provide oversight of profile creation for New Brunswick new hires, and management of changes within the IFS system to ensure alignment of information with workday and to ensure timekeeping and financial records pull correctly.
  13. Partner with management to ensure Moncton timecards and reporting are compliant with New Brunswick and Marshall requirements.
  14. Provide guidance, oversee scheduling and facilitate Moncton onboarding activities (first 2 to 3 days) and support transition to direct leaders for on-the-job training.
  15. Provide input to the Canadian HR team in the design, development and implementation of policies impacting Land Systems team.
  16. Support disability management activities, including engaging Canada HR colleagues on submitting referrals and disability applications, and supporting gradual return to work programs.
  17. Partner with the Canadian HR team to ensure work permit requirements are met for all international placements to New Brunswick and temporary foreign workers.
  18. Support annual and ad hoc projects/Initiatives across the BUs/ support functions.
  19. Collaborate with HR Colleagues to ensure the consistent application of HR process and procedures in Canada and in UK to allow processes where possible.
  20. Other duties as assigned by the Head of HR.

Qualifications:

  1. A University Degree or College Diploma in a related field (including Human Resources, business administration, industrial relations, commerce, or psychology), or equivalent experience.
  2. Certified Human Resources professional (CHRP/CPHR) or candidate.
  3. Proven background within an HR Business Partnering role, with knowledge of HR best practices including relevant federal and provincial legislation and regulations.
  4. Experience across the full HR life cycle is essential, being able to demonstrate operational experience and potential for strategic thinking.
  5. Experience supporting businesses through significant change, including organizational restructures and growth. Proven agility and ability to respond positively to changing environment.
  6. Effective coaching and influencing skills and demonstrable ability to build relationships and manage stakeholders.
  7. Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage a variety of audiences: fluent written and oral English is mandatory.
  8. Experience using HRIS software (Workday preferred).

Must be eligible to meet the requirements of export control regulations, including the Canadian Controlled Goods Program and Canadian government security requirements.
