Job Requirements:
  1. No education or experience required; we will train one on one.
  2. Ability to follow instructions.
  3. Good communication skills are an asset.
  4. Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) is an asset.
  5. Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times.
  6. Professional appearance and manners.
Duties:
  1. Clean rooms according to Sandman Hotels standards.
  2. Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of all chemicals and cleaning products, and the correct handling procedures.
  3. Respond to guests and staff inquiries, requests, and complaints in a prompt and courteous manner.
  4. Ensure all lost property items left in guest rooms are recorded on the worksheet and handed in to the Supervisor/Manager at the end of the shift.
  5. Ensure all maintenance and safety hazards are promptly reported to the Supervisor/Manager to minimize hazard risk.
  6. Take personal responsibility for equipment, ensuring it is operated correctly and secured at all times.
  7. Report any unusual or suspicious persons/activities happening in the area of security to the manager.
  8. Report any maintenance issues including burned-out light bulbs.
  9. Check under beds, drawers, and closets for left-behind articles and/or trash.
  10. Clean sinks and fixtures and restock all terry, soap, glasses, comment cards, coffee, and other amenities.
  11. Clean coffee pots when needed, ensuring pots are plugged in.
  12. Arrange furniture following use by guests.
  13. Ensure security of guest rooms and privacy of guests.
  14. Perform laundry tasks when necessary including collecting, sorting, and transporting laundry at the beginning of each shift.
  15. Remove laundry from dryers and fold immediately to prevent wrinkling.
  16. Stock linen supply room with clean linens for use for the next day.
  17. Laundry to include: bed linens, blankets, duvets/comforters, towels & face cloths, and restaurant table linens. At the end of the day, all cleaning cloths will also be washed, dried, and folded for housekeeping needs.
  18. Small mending repairs required as needed.
