Job Summary: Responsible for non-medical, in-home support services which provide for the comfort, safety, and general supervision of clients as well as home management services. Provides companionship to those individuals requiring socialization and/or minimum guidance to assure a safe, protected, clean, and orderly environment.

Qualifications: Minimum of high school diploma. Must hold and maintain certification in CPR and First Aid. Applicant must hold and annually renew a Vulnerable Sector Police Records Check. Must meet background check requirements including Criminal Background Investigation, Motor Vehicle Driving Record (if applicable), Professional and Personal Reference Checks, and submit to random drug and alcohol testing. Reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and automobile insurance are required. Must complete Comfort Keepers training and adhere to policies. Ability to work independently, follow instructions, and maintain good relationships with clients, families, and staff. High moral standards and genuine concern for helping people are essential.

Essential Functions:

1. Provide non-medical care according to the Plan of Care.
2. Offer companionship, emotional support, and promote mental alertness through engaging activities.
3. Maintain a clean, safe, and healthy environment, including light housekeeping and laundry.
4. Assist with meal preparation and ensure cleanliness after meals.
5. Assist with communication, errands, and community outings.
6. Support medication adherence as per policy.
7. Report changes in client condition promptly.
8. Communicate effectively and maintain professional relationships.
9. Participate in training, meetings, and complete documentation accurately.
10. Use equipment safely and maintain confidentiality.
11. Perform other duties as assigned.

Wages: Starting at $18.00 per hour.

Working Environment: Client home setting and automobile. Risk of exposure to bloodborne pathogens and infectious diseases.

Physical Demands: Regular physical exertion, including driving, assisting clients, and light housekeeping. Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, lift up to 12kg (25 lbs), and demonstrate manual dexterity.
