Job summary

Comfort Keepers in Victoria, BC is hiring Housekeepers to provide compassionate, non-medical in-home support for seniors. You will help with light housekeeping, offer companionship, and support clients’ independence in their own homes.

Responsibilities include following each client’s Plan of Care, documenting care notes, and maintaining safety and confidentiality. CPR/First Aid and a valid driver’s license are emphasized; travel to clients in the area may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• CPR and First Aid certification.
• Vulnerable Sector Police Records Check.
• A valid driver’s license with reliable transportation is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Provide companionship and non-medical care as per each client’s Plan of Care.
• Assist with light housekeeping (vacuuming, dusting, laundry, dishwashing, bathroom/kitchen cleaning).
• Offer emotional support and encourage social engagement.
• Complete care notes accurately and on time; maintain client confidentiality.

Position Summary

The housekeeper provides companionship, emotional support, and light household assistance to clients while following each client’s individualized Plan of Care. This role plays an important part in helping clients remain safe, comfortable, and independent in their homes.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide attentive, non-medical care based on each client’s Plan of Care
• Offer companionship through conversation, reading, activities, and social engagement
• Support clients’ emotional well-being and mental alertness
• Assist with light housekeeping duties including:
  • Vacuuming
  • Dusting
  • Laundry
  • Dishwashing
  • Bathroom and kitchen cleaning
• Complete documentation and care notes accurately and on time
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain client confidentiality

Qualifications & Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (minimum requirement)
• Current CPR & First Aid Certification
• Vulnerable Sector Police Records Check
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are considered strong assets
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Dependable, punctual, and organized

Physical & Working Conditions

• Regular physical activity including walking, standing, bending, reaching, and light lifting (up to 12 kg / 25 lbs) ----

• Possible exposure to bloodborne pathogens and infectious diseases
• Work performed within clients’ homes in the community

Our office serves seniors in Victoria and surrounding communities, including James Bay, Saanich, Oak Bay, Gordon Head, etc. This position may require travel to those areas - we do our best to match you with clients in your area.
