Job summary

Atomic Cartoons is hiring a Junior CG FX Artist in Vancouver, BC. You will design and animate FX using Houdini for smoke, fire, clouds, lava, and water, collaborating with FX Supervisors and TDs to fit the production pipeline.

The role requires strong knowledge of Houdini Dynamic tools, an understanding of physical dynamics, and good communication in a team setting. Remote within BC or hybrid/in-studio options are available.

Qualifications

• Experience with Houdini Dynamic tools and creating visual effects (smoke, fire, water, lava).
• Ability to take direction from FX Supervisor and TDs.
• Strong communication and teamwork within a production pipeline.

Responsibilities

• Design and animate effects using Houdini to meet project standards.
• Take direction from FX Supervisor, Leads and FX TDs.
• Collaborate with DFX supervisor, lighting and CG teams to optimize pipeline.
• Produce look tests based on concepts.
• Meet production deadlines and milestones.
• Assist in establishing best practices across shots.
