Job summary

Canadian Niagara Hotels Group of Companies is seeking a Laundry Attendant (Washer) to join our Niagara Falls properties. You will sort, wash, dry, fold and prepare linens while maintaining clean work areas and following Marriott standards.

This role requires standing for long periods, ability to lift up to 60 lbs, and availability for evenings, weekends and holidays. Prior laundry experience is an asset, and excellent English communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Must be available to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Must be able to work standing for extended periods of time and perform repetitive tasks with accuracy.
• Move, lift, carry, push or pull objects weighing up to 60 lbs.
• Must be able to work in a hot/humid environment.

Responsibilities

• Sorts all soiled linen, weighs and loads into appropriate carts.
• Operates and monitors washing, dry cleaning, and drying machinery; logs poundage and loads.
• Identifies stained or damaged items and determines status for repair, spot treatment, rewash or discard.
• Feeds the machine with linen and inspects cleanliness of articles removed from machines.
• Sets dryers to designated times and temperatures; removes lint and debris; cleans filters.
• Folds towels and linens; irons and prepares items for shelving; maintains records of laundered items.
• Maintains a clean laundry area; follows health and safety policies and reports hazards.
