Job summary

InterContinental Toronto Centre is seeking a Full-Time First Cook in downtown Toronto, Ontario. You will prepare meals, ensure portion and quality standards, and help minimize waste while maintaining a clean, organized kitchen.

Colleagues work with sales, catering, banquets, outlets, and guest services. The role may require nights, weekends, and holidays; the compensation reflects a highly competitive salary and benefits package.

Qualifications

• Basic reading, writing and math skills required.
• Some food preparation experience or training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook orders for daily operations.
• Advise supervisor of low inventory items; assist in receiving items and taking inventory as required.
• Maintain sanitation and cleanliness standards in the kitchen area that meet or exceed health requirements.
• Maintain a clean, neat and well-organized work area; report unsafe or malfunctioning equipment.
• May assist with ware washing or other kitchen duties as needed.
• Promote teamwork and coordination with other departments; may interact with guests.
