Holiday Inn Saskatoon Downtown is seeking a reliable Hotel Handyman / Maintenance Technician to join our maintenance team. The ideal candidate enjoys hands-on work, has prior maintenance experience, and is mechanically inclined. Training will be provided for the right attitude and willingness to learn.

The Holiday Inn Saskatoon Downtown is looking for a reliable, self-motivated Hotel Handyman / Maintenance Technician to join our team.

Whether you're an experienced handyman, have previous building maintenance experience, are mechanically inclined, or are a retired tradesperson looking to stay active, we'd love to hear from you.

No Red Seal or Journeyman certification is required. We're looking for someone with a positive attitude, good common sense, and the willingness to learn. If you're the kind of person friends and family call when something needs fixing, you might be exactly who we're looking for.

One day you might be repairing a guest room door, the next you're touching up paint, checking pool chemistry, replacing a faucet, assembling furniture, or helping prepare a room for its next guest. What You'll Be Doing

As part of our maintenance team, you'll help ensure the hotel remains clean, safe, comfortable, and operating at its best.

Responsibilities include:

• Complete preventative maintenance using our maintenance management system (Quore)
• Respond to guest room maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner
• Perform minor plumbing, electrical, drywall, painting and carpentry repairs
• Repair or replace door hardware, light fixtures, faucets, toilets, furniture and other building components
• Complete routine inspections of guestrooms, public spaces and mechanical equipment
• Monitor and maintain pool and hot tub chemistry in accordance with health regulations
• Maintain the appearance of the hotel, parking lot and surrounding grounds
• Assist with seasonal duties including snow removal, ice control and landscaping
• Coordinate with outside contractors when specialized repairs are required
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and communicate repair needs with the leadership team
• Help create a safe environment for our guests and fellow team members

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate is someone who:

• Enjoys working with their hands and fixing things
• Has previous handyman, maintenance, facilities or property maintenance experience
• Is mechanically inclined and enjoys troubleshooting problems
• Can work independently while also being part of a team
• Takes pride in producing quality work
• Is dependable, organized and has a strong work ethic
• Has excellent customer service skills and enjoys helping people
• Is physically able to lift up to 50 lbs and work safely on ladders when required
• Possesses a valid driver's license (preferred)

Experience in hotels is considered an asset, but not required. We are happy to train someone with the right attitude and willingness to learn.
