Coast Hotels is seeking a Host for Prestons Restaurant + Lounge at Coast Coal Harbour Vancouver Hotel by APA. You will welcome guests, seat guests, provide product knowledge, manage reservations, and handle transactions, while upholding Coast Hotels' service standards.

Qualifications

• FOODSAFE and Serving It Right certifications are listed.
• Hepatitis A vaccination is recommended.
• Professional appearance and attitude are expected.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills are required.
• Cash handling experience is an asset.
• Ability to multi-task with high attention to detail.
• Secondary school diploma preferred.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations is important.
• Knowledge of menu items.
• Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
• WHMIS training an asset.

Responsibilities

• Acts as an Ambassador for Coast, greeting guests and handling inquiries.
• Seating guests and providing food/beverage knowledge; managing reservations and transactions.
• Adheres to quality and industry standards in tasks.
• Checks guest satisfaction and follows up on requests when possible.
• Ensures safety and security of property, ambassadors, and guests.
• Stocks supplies and maintains inventory levels.
• Demonstrates a customer service attitude in internal/external contacts.
• Performs other duties as required.

The Host will contribute to the overall success of the hotel by providing superior customer service and upholding quality standards for Coast Hotels Food & Beverage operations.

Responsibilities:

• Acts as an Ambassador for Coast including greeting guests, making them feel welcome, and handling basic inquiries
• Provides customer service by seating guests, providing food and/or beverage product knowledge, managing reservations, handling cash, cheques, credit and debit card transactions in accordance with Hotel Policies
• Adheres to quality and industry standards when completing tasks
• Checks on guest satisfaction and follows up on requests where possible and appropriate
• Ensures the safety and security of the property, the ambassadors and guests when completing tasks
• Stocks supplies and maintains inventory levels
• Demonstrates a customer service attitude with internal / external contacts
• Other duties as required

Skills/Knowledge/Experience:

• Industry-specific certifications such as FOODSAFE and Serving It Right
• Hepatitis A vaccination recommended
• Professional attitude and appearance
