Job summary

Courtyard by Marriott Kingston is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to lead the hotel’s engineering team in maintaining plumbing, HVAC, pools, and guest rooms. You will ensure repairs are completed on time and in accordance with specifications, while enforcing health and safety standards.

Requirements include some college or vocational training plus two years of building maintenance or equivalent, and the ability to perform physical tasks and communicate policies to staff.

Qualifications

• Two years of general building maintenance experience.
• Hotel maintenance supervisory experience preferred.
• Basic reading, writing and math abilities.
• Ability to carry items weighing up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Supervises maintenance staff in the maintenance and repair of plumbing, hotel rooms, A/C and heating, ice machine, swimming pools, lighting, kitchen equipment, refrigeration, laundry, emergency generators, switch rooms, etc.
• Ensures all maintenance and repairs are completed on a timely basis and according to specifications.
• Follows company policies and procedures and can effectively communicate them to subordinates.
• Assists the Chief Engineer in administering and documenting equipment preventative maintenance and guest room preventative maintenance.
• Ensure that all employees use or wear any equipment, protective devices or clothing required under the Health & Safety Program.
