Job summary

Crescent Hotels & Resorts in Saint John, NB is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Associate to keep our hotel in top condition. You will perform preventive maintenance, basic repairs, and building upkeep to ensure guest satisfaction and safety.

You should have experience with HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building operations, plus a team-oriented mindset and the ability to work flexible shifts including weekends.

Qualifications

• Experience with preventive maintenance and repairs on hotel/building systems.
• Ability to work with electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general building equipment.
• Comfort working around guests and in a hospitality environment.
• Flexible to work shifts including days, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preventive maintenance and report work orders to maintain hotel quality standards.
• Check electrical systems and perform minor repairs as needed.
• Assist in routine and major repairs of hotel equipment, including HVAC, boilers, pool equipment, and plumbing fixtures.
• Service the hotel's pool and maintain chemical checks and filter cleaning.
• Maintain exterior upkeep and curb appeal (snow removal, lawn care, painting).

Here’s what you’ll be doing each day:

• Assist with preventative maintenance and complete report work orders such as replacing ceiling tiles, light bulbs, patching vinyl, etc., to maintain the hotel and keep the product quality standard.
• Assist in checking electrical systems such as air conditioning controls, television sets, lighting systems, and make minor repairs and/or replacement.
• Assist in checking and making routine repairs and assist on major repairs of all hotel equipment including small appliances, kitchen equipment, laundry equipment, boilers, pool equipment, HVAC, hand and power tools and general plumbing systems and fixtures such as pipe lines, toilets and sinks, kitchen and laundry equipment.
• Service the hotel's pool, including adjusting chemicals and cleaning filters; completing maintenance request forms and record logs.
• Maintain the building exterior and "curb appeal" (e.g., snow removal, lawn care, painting, gardening).
