Sienna Senior Living in Medicine Hat, Canada, is seeking a Hospitality Cook to join our team. You will prepare meals and snacks following production sheets, ensuring portions and prescribed diets meet guidelines while maintaining high quality in a resident‑centered environment.

The role emphasizes teamwork, orientation of new staff, and flexibility with duties as assigned. A Grade 12 education and valid Safe Food Handling and Smart Serve certificates are required, with applicable background

Qualifications

• Grade 12 minimum education required.
• Valid Safe Food Handling Certificate and/or Smart Serve certificate.
• Experience with cooking in institutional, health care, restaurant, or hospitality.
• Must pass Vulnerable Sector Check (Ontario) and Criminal Records Check (BC).

Responsabilités

• Setting up equipment and supplies for food preparation.
• Preparing meals and snacks according to production sheets and recipes.
• Providing for prescribed diets, at appropriate temperatures and in portion controlled quantities.
• Monitoring quality of food supplies and advising on corrective action.
• In the absence of the team leader, assumes responsibility for departmental operations.
• Assisting in orienting and training new team members.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

As a Hospitality Cook, your typical day will impact in the following ways

• Setting up equipment and supplies for food preparation
• Preparing meals and snacks according to production sheets, recipes and other menu document as provided
• Providing for prescribed diets, at appropriate temperatures and in portion controlled quantities
• Monitoring quality of food supplies received and advises team leader of problems and makes recommendations about corrective action
• In the absence of the team leader, assumes responsibility for departmental operations including menu changes as necessary, requisitions and purchases food and other supplies from authorized suppliers
• Assisting in the orientation and training of new team members
• Performing other duties as assigned

Must haves

• Grade 12 minimum education required
• A valid Safe Food Handling Certificate and/or Smart Serve certificate
• Experience with cooking in institutional, health care, restaurant, or hospitality
• Demonstrates a positive attitude necessary to meet the goals and standards of the residence
• All applicants must successfully pass the prescribed Vulnerable Sector Check. Applicable to Ontario applicants
• All applicants must successfully pass the prescribed Criminal Records Check. Applicable to British Columbia applicants

Bonus points for having

• Graduate of a recognized college food preparation program and willing to Red Seal certify
