Job summary

Alberta Health Services is seeking a dependable Environmental Services worker trained for healthcare settings in Fort Vermilion. You will clean and disinfect patient rooms, clinical areas, offices and shared spaces while following AHS standards and safety practices.

Shifts may include days, evenings, nights and weekends with travel allowances as applicable. The role requires physical stamina, basic computer/smartphone use, and the ability to lift up to 25 lbs and push/pull up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• Completion of Grade 10 or equivalent.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and perform repetitive movements.
• Physically capable to lift up to 25 lbs and push and pull up to 50 lbs of force.
• Basic knowledge and operation of a computer and a smart phone.
• Must be dependable and able to work with minimal supervision. May be required on short notice.

Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect patient rooms, clinical areas, and common spaces.
• Sweep, mop and vacuum floors; restock bathroom supplies.
• Strip linen and make beds; handle laundry duties as assigned.
• Operate cleaning equipment and handle waste disposal according to standards.
• Report hazards to supervisor and assist with training staff as needed.
