Job summary

Alberta Health Services (AHS) is looking for a dependable Environmental Services staff member trained to work in healthcare to clean and disinfect patient rooms, clinical areas, and other common spaces in Barrhead.

You will perform sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, restocking supplies, linen handling, and operate cleaning equipment with shifts including days, evenings, nights and weekends. Must be able to stand, lift up to 25 lbs, and follow written and oral instructions with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• Completion of Grade 10 or equivalent.
• Knowledge and operation of computers and smartphones.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time and perform repetitive movements for the duration of your shift.
• Physically capable to lift up to 25 lbs and push and pull up to 50 lbs of force.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop and vacuum to clean patient rooms and clinical areas.
• Restock supplies in bathrooms and restock cleaning materials.
• Strip linen and make beds.
• Operate cleaning equipment for floor maintenance and restoration.
• Wash ceilings and windows.
• Empty hazardous waste.
• Replenish cleaning supplies and linens.
• Identify and report potential hazards to supervisor; may train Environmental/Laundry staff.
