Job summary

Huron Hospice Bender House in Clinton, Ontario is hiring a Casual Registered Practical Nurse on a temporary part-time basis. The role focuses on compassionate, person-centered palliative care and requires strong communication and team collaboration.

Shifts are 12 hours (days/nights) across all week days, with scheduling plotted in advance and short-call coverage as needed. Competitive pay reflects Ontario hospice standards.

Qualifications

• Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
• Minimum of one year registered practical nursing experience, in the past 5 years.
• Current BCLS certification.
• Computer literacy (Outlook, Microsoft Word).

Responsibilities

• Assess and manage palliative symptoms with a person-centered approach.
• Establish meaningful relationships and communicate effectively with residents and families.
• Work independently and as part of a nursing team to adapt to changing needs.
• Provide compassionate care in a small residential hospice setting.
• Be available for 12-hour day and night shifts, including all days of the week.
