Job description

We are seeking a full-time Horticulturist to join our team at Paul Sangha Creative

Paul Sangha Creative is an award-winning landscape architectural practice dedicated to crafting artful, experiential landscapes for private and public spaces. With over 30 years of experience, we pride ourselves on service, high quality, and timeless design. Join our dynamic and fast-paced environment to gain diverse experience across various styles and projects, both locally and internationally.

Recommended Qualifications:
  • A degree, diploma, or certificate in horticulture, landscape architecture, or a related field
  • Experience working in horticulture
  • Exceptional design skills with a portfolio of previous work
  • Knowledge of drought-tolerant hardy plant species and experience designing with them
  • Ability to adapt designs locally and internationally, forging relationships and gathering information
  • A passionate plants person familiar with local nurseries, suppliers, and plants
  • Ability to read architectural drawings
  • Hand drawing and computer drafting skills; knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Keen interest in learning and exploring new ideas
  • Professional, focused, well-organized team player who appreciates feedback, is detail-oriented, and works well under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Driver’s license
Additional Assets:
  • Knowledge of Mac computers, Vectorworks for CAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Horticultural knowledge applicable to other regions and climates
  • Understanding of resilient and regenerative soil practices, as well as landscape and plant maintenance
Key Responsibilities:
  • Sourcing trees and plants
  • Conducting site visits for tree and plant placement
  • Designing and implementing detailed planting plans
  • Client liaison and collaboration with growers, nurseries, suppliers, and contractors
  • Identifying concerns in existing gardens (e.g., pests, diseases)
  • Reviewing maintenance and plant health, providing constructive feedback
  • Introducing new and exciting ideas and plants into designs

Compensation and Location:

Salary range: $30 - $36 per hour, commensurate with experience
