Horticulture Technician
--Location: Jerseyville, Ontario (must have reliable transportation)
--Compensation: $20-$24/hour based on experience
--Job Type: Full-time, Seasonal (April–November), winter work available

What You’ll Do:
  • Garden & Greenspace Care – Perform regular maintenance, including weeding, pruning, deadheading, cultivating, and plant care, ensuring landscapes remain vibrant and healthy. Perform spring and fall cleanups.
  • Enhance Landscape Beds – Edge garden beds, apply mulch, and maintain a polished, professional appearance.
  • Monitor & Report Plant Health – Identify and report plant health concerns such as pests, diseases, or nutrient deficiencies to maintain high-quality greenspaces.
  • Scheduled Site Visits – Return to commercial and condominium properties on a biweekly basis to ensure consistent maintenance and care.
  • Operate Tools & Equipment – Use hand tools and small equipment safely and efficiently to complete daily tasks. Training is provided for those eager to learn.
  • Work as a Team & Take Initiative – Balance independent responsibilities while supporting and collaborating with teammates.

  • Comfortable with Hands-On Work – This role involves working on your feet, handling tools, and performing tasks that include standing, walking, bending, and lifting materials such as buckets or plants. We provide training and the right tools to help you work safely and efficiently.
  • Passionate About the Outdoors – You enjoy being outside in various weather conditions and take pride in maintaining beautiful spaces.
  • Open to Learning & Growing – Whether you have formal horticulture training (diploma, GROW training) or hands-on experience in gardening, farming, conservation, or similar fields, we value your willingness to learn.
  • Detail-Oriented & Professional – You care about the quality of your work, follow best practices, and ensure properties are maintained to a high standard.
  • Team Player & Independent Worker – You work well with a team but can also take responsibility for individual tasks. You step up when needed and support your coworkers.
  • Reliable & Committed – You have dependable transportation to our yard in Jerseyville, Ontario and are ready to be part of a company that values professionalism and dedication.

Equipment You’ll Use:
  • Hand tools (pruners, handsaws, pole saws, shovels, rakes)
  • Gardening equipment (hedge trimmers, string trimmers, backpack blowers, push mowers)
  • Company trucks & trailers (if licensed and trained)
Commitment:
April–November, Monday–Friday (occasional Saturdays)
Winter Work Available: Snow removal positions open for sidewalk crews.
