Job summary

McGill University is seeking a part-time farm worker for the Macdonald Campus Farm/Horticulture Centre. Duties include land preparation, seeding, transplanting, pruning, hoeing, some tractor work, harvesting, and sales at the Mac Market counter, plus data collection from research plots.

You will join a team under the AMUSE collective agreement with a 15-hour weekly schedule. The position starts 2026-09-16 and ends 2026-11-14, with a deadline to apply 2026-09-18.

Qualifications

• Previous work in horticulture an asset.
• Driver’s license an asset.
• High School Diploma required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare land, seed, transplant, prune and harvest crops.
• Operate simple tractor work as needed.
• Sell at Mac Market counter and assist customers.
• Collect data from research plots for field records.
• Support the Chief Horticulture Technician with daily tasks.
