Job summary

Coventry Homes Inc. is seeking a Warranty Technician to support homeowners during warranty walkthroughs and trade days, performing interior and exterior repairs and coordinating with trades to meet Coventry standards in Edmonton, AB.

Qualifications

  • 2 years’ experience in residential renovation construction.
  • Proven ability to diagnose and fix home defects.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Experience coordinating with trades and suppliers.
  • Must have basic tools for in-house repairs.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct and manage service appointments and trade days; ensuring trades arrive and work is completed to Coventry standards.
  • Follow up with trades and suppliers to ensure all service work is completed promptly.
  • Perform small in-house repairs (drywall, tile, paint, carpentry) as needed.
  • Diagnose problems and guide trades on repairs required (e.g., locate water leaks).
  • Conduct warranty reviews with homeowners and communicate action items to the team.

The Homeowner Care/Warranty Technician provides support during warranty walkthroughs and trade days. Completing interior and exterior deficiency repairs, or working with trades to complete these items, the Warranty Technician provides exemplary customer service.

The ideal team member must be well organized, able to multi-task, customer service oriented, and able to respond and resolve issues in a professional, prompt, and timely manner, technology savvy/ good with computers.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Conduct and manage service appointments and trade days; ensuring trades arrive and work is completed to Coventry standards. Communicate any outstanding items to the administration team.
  • Follow up with trades and suppliers, in conjunction with office staff, to ensure all service work is completed in a timely manner.
  • Ability to perform small in-house repairs such as drywall, tile, paint, basic carpentry, etc.
  • Ability to diagnose problems (e.g. Finding the source of water leak). To Provide clear direction to trades on repairs needed.
  • Conduct warranty reviews with homeowners; thoroughly inspect their home for deficiencies, addressing any items or questions they may have, and communicating with the team regarding any action items.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Ticketed tradespeople would be an asset.
  • Proficient use of technology/ computers & web-based programs an asset.
  • Residential home building knowledge and the ability to carry out minor repairs and adjustments.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with demonstrated history of customer focused approach.
  • 2 nd language other than English may be of benefit.
  • Good standing Class 5 driver’s license is required.
  • Need basic tools.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and multi-tasking abilities.
  • 2 years’ experience in residential renovation construction
  • Experience in renovations/ new home construction considered an asset.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a high-performance team environment.
