Lookout Housing and Health Society in Abbotsford is seeking a full-time Homemaker to perform cleaning duties, tidy resident and shelter areas, and help with laundry and supplies. You will also assist clients with personal hygiene and nutrition as needed.
The role requires respirator fit testing compliance and a current First Aid certificate. Workdays are Sunday through Thursday, 08:30–16:30, with 7.5-hour shifts and standard safety expectations.

Lighthouse Shelter
Sunday through Thursday
Shift times will be 08:30 - 16:30 Hours
Shifts are 7.5hours in length
Days of rest shall be consecutive. Schedule may change with two weeks’ notice
Probationary/qualifying period will be 488 hours with mid and end point reviews
$23.89 - 25.54 depending upon applicants' length of seniority (as per the Collective Agreement)
The Homemaker reports to the Site Manager and works in accordance with the mission and philosophy of Lookout Housing and Health Society including following Lookout’s Code of Ethics. The Homemaker performs a variety of cleaning duties ensuring the cleanliness and tidiness of resident and/or shelter rooms and communal areas.
Respirator Fit Test Requirement
This position requires successful completion of respirator fit testing, as Lookout is COR (Certificate of Recognition) certified and must comply with WorkSafeBC health and safety requirements. To ensure a proper respirator seal during fit testing and use, employees are required to be clean-shaven where the respirator seals against the face.
