Job summary

ParaMed Home Health Care is launching a new paid Home Support Worker program for the Muskoka area. You will visit patients in their homes, assist with daily tasks, meals, personal care, and companionship to help them live safely at home.

In-class training is provided for three weeks, after which you may receive full-time hours and benefits. We offer paid training, a certification path, mileage reimbursement, and education support for employees and families.

Qualifications

• Compassion and active listening are essential.
• Willingness to travel to patient residences within a designated area.
• Criminal background screening must be passed.
• Experience with personal hygiene care is an asset but not required.
• Valid driver license and access to a vehicle are required.

Responsibilities

• Travel from patient to patient completing several home visits per day.
• Prepare meals and assist with meal-time.
• Assist with basic housekeeping duties.
• Provide companionship and support the well-being of patients.
• Assist with personal hygiene care including showering and bathing.
• Support for basic activities of daily living.

You will receive free and paid training in a 3 week in-class program designed to teach you the skills needed to work as a Home Support Worker. Upon graduation you will be eligible for full-time hours and benefits.

What You Bring

• Ability to work every other weekend
• Experience working with seniors and/or children is an asset
• Ability to pass or satisfy a Criminal Background screening upon hire
• Previous experience performing personal hygiene care is an asset but not necessary
• Valid driver license and access to a vehicle
• High school diploma or equivalent.
