Job summary

Yee Hong in the Greater Toronto Area seeks a Personal Support Worker to provide in-home support and emergency response services in the home care and assisted living setting.

The role requires Ontario PSW training, strong customer service, and ability to communicate in English and Chinese. Travel within Peel and Mississauga with shift work including weekends is expected.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved and recognized Personal Support Worker course in Ontario, or equivalent.
• Registration with Health and Supportive Care Providers Oversight Authority (HSCPOA) preferred.
• Computer literacy (MS Office). Basic knowledge of Alayacare, Workday an asset.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-home support and emergency response services.
• Deliver client-centered care with a focus on safety and quality.
• Travel within Greater Toronto and Mississauga area using own vehicle.
• Shift work including days, evenings, nights and weekends.

• Current CPR & First Aid Certificate
• Registration with Health and Supportive Care Providers Oversight Authority (HSCPOA) preferred.
• Client-centred care focus with strong customer service and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated ability to take initiative, problem-solve and time manage
• Ability to work independently as well as be an active, positive team player
• Computer literacy (MS Office). Basic knowledge of Alayacare, Workday an asset.
• Satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Screen result
• Ability to communicate in English and Chinese

Physical Demands/Working Conditions:

• Considerable standing, walking, lifting and bending.
• Exposure to all client care elements through regular client contact.
• Shift work, including days, evenings, nights and weekends
• Regular travel within the Greater Toronto and Mississauga area
• Use of own vehicle

Salary Range: $20.70 - $24.35
