Job summary

Next Youth Job in Maple, ON is seeking a responsible home support worker/caregiver to assist a person with a disability. Work in the employer’s home with public transit access; live-in accommodation is available at no charge and is optional. Terms are full-time and permanent with a wage of $21/hour for 30–44 hours per week.

Education includes a secondary school certificate and related home support courses; six months of experience is preferred. English language skills are required.

Qualifications

• Secondary school certificate or equivalent required.
• College or other courses related to home support preferred.
• Six months work experience in home care is preferred.
• English language skills required.

Responsibilities

• Administer bedside and personal care.
• Assist clients in water activities and in regular exercise.
• Assume full responsibility for household in absence of householder.
• Feed or assist in feeding; prepare nutritious meals.
• Change non-sterile dressings and assist with hygiene.
• Shop for food and household supplies; light housekeeping.
• Provide companionship and plan therapeutic diets and menus.

Terms of employment: Full time, Permanent

Wage: $21/Hour@ 30 – 44 hours per week
