Job summary

Next Youth Job is looking for a compassionate and reliable Home Support Worker/Caregiver in Pickering, Ontario. This full-time role offers the selected candidate an opportunity to provide care and assistance to an adult individual with a disability, promoting their comfort, well-being, and independence.

The ideal candidate will support daily living activities and ensure a safe, respectful home environment. Candidates should have a Secondary School Certificate and preferably some related courses or experience in home support.

The position offers a wage of $21/hour for 30 – 44 hours per week, starting as soon as possible.

Qualifications

• Preferred experience in home support work or caregiving.
• Six months of work experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and companionship.
• Assist clients with daily living activities.
• Feed or assist in feeding clients.
• Change non-sterile dressings.
• Prepare and serve nutritious meals.
• Perform light housekeeping duties.

Description

We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and responsible Home Support Worker/Caregiver to provide care and assistance to an adult individual with a disability in Pickering, Ontario. The successful candidate will support the client with daily living activities while promoting their comfort, well-being, and independence in a safe and respectful home environment.

Work in employer’s/client’s home, Public transportation is available, Optional accommodation available at no charge on a live-in basis. Note: This is not a condition of employment

Terms of employment: Full time, Permanent

Wage: $21/Hour @ 30 – 44 hours per week

Target Audience

Education: Secondary (high) School Certificate, College or other courses related in home support, First aid certification is preferred

Work experience: Six months work experience is preferred

Job duties:

• Administer bedside and personal care
• Assist clients in water (i.e. pool)
• Assist in regular exercise, e.g., walk
• Assume full responsibility for household (in absence of householder)
• Feed or assist in feeding
• Change non-sterile dressings
• Shop for food and household supplies
• Provide personal care
• Provide companionship
• Plan therapeutic diets and menus
• Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties
• Assist clients with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene
• Prepare and serve nutritious meals
