Position:

2nd Steps & Suites Support Worker

2nd Steps has independent and assessment suites in an apartment building serving high-risk families. This position is for 2nd Steps supportive Living through Sanctum Care Group.

The support worker will provide support and assistance to all residents of 2nd Steps, ensuring tenants follow lease agreements and program rules. Collaboration with Sanctum Care Group and existing supports is essential. The role embodies harm reduction and trauma-informed care models, focusing on daily tasks such as life skills, routine building, and access to community resources.

Wage:

$18.00/hour

Position:

Casual

Shift times:

07:30-16:00, 15:30-00:00, 23:30-08:00

Supportive Living Staff Requirements & Responsibilities

The successful applicant will demonstrate knowledge of:

  • Active CPR and First Aid certification
  • Clear communication skills, teamwork, and relationship building

Responsibilities
  • Data entry & charting shift reports
  • Provide individual support and facilitate case plans as directed by the clinical team
  • Maintain current tenant support and contact information
  • Support tenants with referrals to rides, food services, formula, or baby needs
  • Check in with tenants at the start of each shift
  • Enforce lease agreements & program rules
  • Monitor security cameras for safety
  • Routine building checks (hallways, stairwells, exterior doors, vacant suites)
  • Maintain cleanliness (garbage, sharps)
  • Complete evacuation and emergency procedures when necessary
  • Ensure resident safety and contact authorities if required
