Job summary
The Care Company is seeking motivated Occupational Therapy/Physiotherapy Assistants (OTA/PTA) to join our community-based rehabilitation team. You will work under the supervision of a Registered Occupational Therapist and/or Physiotherapist, delivering home-based care to clients across Central Ontario, including York, Simcoe, Newmarket, and Georgina.
Travel across GTA is required. Full-time opportunities with a Monday-Friday schedule and occasional weekend shifts; strong interpersonal skills and
Qualifications
- Certificate or Diploma in the Occupational Therapist Assistant or Physiotherapy Assistant Program from a recognized educational institution.
- Previous home and community care experience is preferred.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in varied home environments.
- Must have CPR/First Aid and immunization compliance where required.
Responsibilities
- Implement prescribed treatment plans under the supervision of a Registered OT/PT.
- Support clients with exercises, mobility training, strengthening, gait and balance retraining.
- Reinforce home exercise programs and ensure safe performance.
- Monitor client progress and document responses to treatment.
- Assist with transfer training, mobility aid usage and caregiver education.
