Job summary

Sterling Homes is seeking a Home Quality Assurance Supervisor to oversee daily quality control operations, site inspections and walkthrough orientations in Calgary and surrounding area.

You will develop, monitor and manage QA processes to ensure homes meet Sterling Homes’ quality standards, coordinating with construction, warranty and design teams and serving as the primary contact for homeowners.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of Site Supervision or 3 years of QA in the residential construction industry.
• Knowledge of building codes and requirements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily Quality Control operations and Walkthrough Orientations.
• Develop, monitor and manage quality control processes to ensure homes meet quality standards.
• Conduct Quality Control inspections prior to insulation and Walkthrough Orientation.
• Prepare deficiency lists before and during homeowner orientations.
• Collaborate with site staff, trades and production teams to review inspection results and resolve deficiencies.
• Coordinate the quality assurance program with construction, warranty and design departments.
• Evaluate existing procedures and conduct internal audits to ensure quality standards.
• Compile, analyze and summarize industry trends and reports for quality documentation.
• Respond to homeowner inquiries with a focus on customer experience.

Job Overview

Reporting to the Construction Manager, as the Home Quality Assurance Supervisor, you will oversee daily Quality Control operations and Walkthrough Orientations. You will also develop, monitor and manage quality control processes to ensure homes are delivered to Sterling Homes’ quality standards while acting as a key point of contact between homeowners and the Construction Team.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Reviewing and becoming familiar with the homes you will oversee.
• Conducting Quality Control Inspections prior to insulation and Walkthrough Orientation.
• Conducting Walkthrough Orientations and preparing deficiency lists before and during homeowner orientations.
• Identifying critical control points and preventive measures to support the design and implementation of Quality Control plans.
• Interpreting construction drawings, interior design specifications and shop drawings to support quality outcomes.
• Collaborating with site staff, trades and production teams to review inspection results, develop corrective actions and resolve deficiencies.
• Coordinating the quality assurance program with construction, warranty and design departments.
• Evaluating existing procedures and conducting internal audits to ensure quality standards are effectively implemented.
• Compiling, analyzing and summarizing industry trends, past processes, corrective actions and re-validations to prepare quality documentation and reports.
• Responding to homeowner enquiries with a focus on the customer experience.

• Minimum 5 years of Site Supervision or Field experience in the residential construction industry; or minimum 3 years of Quality Assurance experience in the residential construction industry.
• Knowledge of building codes and requirements, as well as varying techniques for different construction procedures.
• Valid driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
• Satisfactory verification of criminal record check.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint and PowerPoint), Site Docs and BuildPro.

Working Conditions

You primarily work on site during regular business hours. Work will have exposure to noise from equipment/machinery and occupational hazards as well as dealing with inclement weather and dust. Travel to the regional office or other site locations is required. Overtime may occasionally be required.
