Autism Services in Saskatoon is seeking a Home Visitor to deliver weekly home-based, educational activities under the HIPPY program for parents and preschool children. You will help families understand early childhood development concepts and observe their child's learning progress.
Required: high school diploma or GED with at least one year of experience with young children and families; valid Class 5 Driver's License and reliable transportation.
Job Purpose
Under the direction of the Childcare Services Director, the Home Instructions for Parents of Preschool Youngsters (HIPPY) Home Visitor provides weekly home-based, educational programming and activities to parents and their children ages 35 that enables parents to prepare their children for school. This position helps parents understand early childhood development concepts that increases the parents ability to observe and understand their childrens learning process and development.
High school diploma or possession of GED certificate and one year of experience with young children and families.
A parent of a 35 year old child or access to a pre-school child with whom to practice activities is an asset.
Knowledge and/or training in Early Childhood Education (ECE) preferred, but not required.
Preference given to mothers who have been in the program.
Preference for Home Visitors to speak: Dari/Pushto, Mandarin, Arabic, Tigrinya,
Must be permanent Resident of Canada
Criminal Occurrence Security Check Must complete a Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check in good standing and within three months prior to first day of employment.
Valid Class 5 Drivers License and reliable transportation.
