Responsibilities

• Supervise and care for a child
• Assume full responsibility for household in the absence of parents
• Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties
• Bath, dress, and feed child
• Discipline child according to parents’ methods
• Instruct child in personal hygiene and social development
• Maintain a safe and healthy home environment
• Organise activities such as games and outings
• Prepare and serve nutritious meals
• Prepare child for rest periods
• Tend to child’s emotional well‑being

Requirements

• Security and safety: criminal record check
• Weight handling: up to 9 kg (20 lbs)
• Personal suitability: client focus, flexibility, initiative, judgement, organisational skills, reliability, time management, patience, honesty

• Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
