Job summary

Eagle Heart Centres seeks a Kids First Home Visitor to provide hands-on, culturally safe support to families with young children through regular home visits, advocacy, and connections to community resources.

Under supervision, you will help families strengthen parenting skills, promote child development, and address housing, health, and education goals while reflecting Indigenous worldviews in every interaction.

Qualifications

• Builds meaningful, trust-based relationships through empathy and clear communication.
• Maintains professionalism and discretion in handling sensitive family information.
• Able to adapt to changing family needs and program priorities.
• Proficient with MS 365, data entry systems, and electronic reporting.
• Valid Class 5 drivers license and access to insured vehicle.
• Current Criminal Record Check (Vulnerable Sector Search) required.

The KFH Visitor provides hands-on, culturally safe, and trauma-informed support to families with young children through regular home visits, advocacy, and connection to community resources. Under the direction of the Senior Home Visitor and Kids First Team Lead, the Home Visitor helps families strengthen parenting skills, promote child development, and achieve stability in areas such as housing, health, and education. This role supports parents in setting and achieving family goals, building trust, and accessing culturally relevant supports that promote well-being and belonging. The Kids First Home Visitor demonstrates empathy, professionalism, and cultural understanding in every interaction, ensuring that services reflect Eagle Heart Centres mission, values, and Indigenous worldviews.

Education: Diploma or certificate in Early Childhood Development, Human Services, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience). Minimum one (1) year of experience supporting families or children in home-based or community settings.
