Mainroad Group is seeking Highway Maintenance Driver/Labourers to join our Campbell River team for the upcoming winter season, approximately November 2026 to April 2027. The role is seasonal/casual and involves a variety of shifts including days, nights, weekends, and graveyard shifts.

Responsibilities include operating sanding, plowing and salting trucks, hauling materials, and performing general highway maintenance.

Description

We are looking for Highway Maintenance Driver/Labourers to join our Campbell River team for the upcoming winter season, approximately November 2026 to April 2027. This is a seasonal/casual position.

Our Highway Maintenance Driver/Labourers play an important role in supporting winter road maintenance operations throughout the North Island area. Successful candidates must be available to work a variety of shifts, including days, nights, weekends and graveyard shifts, and may be required to work on-call during snow and winter weather events.

What you'll do:

• Operate sanding, plowing and salting trucks during winter weather events.
• Assist with snow and ice control on highways and roadways
• Operate and drive trucks to haul materials
• Clear litter, debris and roadkill from roadways
• Complete general highway maintenance activities as required
• Work outdoors in changing and sometimes challenging weather conditions

What you'll bring:

• Valid Class 1 or Class 3 driver's licence with Air Brake Endorsement
• Previous construction and/or highway maintenance experience is an asset
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to learn quickly
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Positive attitude and ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Strong commitment to working safely
