Compass Group Canada (Beaver) Ltd. is hiring a cook for our Toronto kitchen. You will prepare, pre-cook and cook food to meet high-volume demands, following Corporate standards and health guidelines.

Strong communication with operations and team members is essential. We offer a competitive hourly wage of 22–25 CAD, with compensation aligned to skills and experience. Prior food safety certification and a certificate from a recognized cooking school are preferred, and a collaborative, fast-paced

Qualifications

• Proven cooking experience in a professional setting.
• Food Safety Certification required or in progress.
• Certificate from a recognized cooking school.
• Good understanding of cooking methods, equipment and procedures.
• Able to perform tasks accurately with speed.
• Familiar with industry best practices.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Physically capable of performing duties.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, pre‑cook and/or cook food products as directed.
• Prepare mise en place and other items for high-volume production.
• Clean kitchen equipment after use per health and safety policies.
• Label, date, store and rotate food and beverage products.
• Communicate effectively with all appropriate operational departments.
• Report maintenance issues or accidents to supervisor immediately.
• Perform other duties as assigned or directed.
