FirstHealth is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented high school student to assist with registration and administrative tasks. This role is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in organization, communication, and teamwork while contributing to the smooth operation of our registration processes.The Registration Coordinator is responsible for registration of patients, verification of insurance benefits, pre certifications and verification of demographic information.

Responsibilities
  • Manage patient registration processes accurately and efficiently.

  • Verify insurance benefits and ensure pre-certifications are completed as required.

  • Update and confirm accurate demographic information for all patients.

  • Collect and process payments, ensuring proper posting to patient accounts.

  • Assist patients with financial assistance applications when needed.

  • Maintain compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements throughout the registration process.

This position isdeemed*essential *. Essential staff are expected to report to work during inclement weather.

Qualifications

Bilingual skills preferred. Must be currently enrolled in High School. Able to work weekends, holidays and shift rotations as needed.

  • Understanding of medical terminology.
  • Strong attention to detail and time-management skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

  • Basic proficiency in using computers and software like Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.

  • A positive attitude, reliability, and a willingness to learn.

Working Conditions/Physical Demand

Primary office environment/workstation.Potential exposure to communicable disease.

  • Stooping: Bending the body downward and forward by bending the spine at the waist.
  • Crouching: Bending the body downward and forward by bending the legs and the spine
  • Standing,walkingand sitting for extended periods of time
  • Medium physical effort isrequiredinlifting upto 40 pounds with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 20 pounds.

Essential Sensory Requirements:

  • Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideasby means ofthe spoken word; able to read, write,speakandcomprehendthe English Language.
  • Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sound by ear.
  • Acuity, Far: Clarity of vision at 20 feet or more. Acuity, Near: Clarity of 20 inches or less

Exposure to Hazards:

  • Constant exposure to chemicals, infectious, electrical and fire hazards. Exposure to blood and body fluids requiring Biohazard protection.
